About - Habitat for Humanity® Fairfield County Ohio
Our Mission Statement
"Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and people everywhere, from all walks of life, to develop communities with people in need by building and renovating houses, so that there are decent houses in decent communities in which every person can experience God's love and can live and grow into all that God intends."
Who We Are
Our organization is a locally-run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Habitat is a nonprofit ecumenical Christian organization which builds affordable homes for those in need. These houses then are sold interest free at no profit. The philosophy is that we provide "a hand up not a hand out".
What We Do
Volunteers provide most of the labor. Financial support comes from grants, churches, individuals, organizations and corporations. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor called "Sweat Equity" - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving fund that is used to build more houses.
Serving Our Community
Habitat for Humanity partners with other non profit organizations in the common mission: to improve the communities in which we live.
